Our Audiologist

Gail Linn has been working with the hearing impaired since 1984. During that time she has owned a practice in Waterloo, Iowa where she had one main office and 5 satellite offices. In 1998 she moved to the Washington DC area and opened Potomac Hearing Professionals and worked at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) as the Director of Private Practice and Industry. She resigned her job at ASHA in June of 2004 to pursue private practice full time. During her tenure at ASHA she conducted many interviews and was the Ex-Officio on a number of practice documents. You can find some of these on the internet by doing a search with "Gail Linn and Cochlear Implants; Gail Linn and Hearing Aids; and Gail Linn and Audiology; Gail Linn and Cell Phones".

Gail is also a Technical Expert for Frye Electronics and travels around the east coast training other hearing healthcare professionals on equipment related to hearing evaluations and hearing aid fitting.

Gail’s area of expertise in the field of audiology is hearing aid fitting. She takes special care in the evaluation process and the hearing aid fitting process. She believes that the use of "Real Ear Measurements" is one of the keys to successful hearing aid fitting. Of course there are many other important elements of the hearing aid process as well.

Gail travels with her husband Bob to Scrabble Tournaments around the world. Bob is one of the top scrabble players in the country and Gail plays as well. She loves to read, cook, study and considers most of her patients friends. She describes work as "going to meet with friends all day".
